The Don Greene Nature Park is a Harris County Park located at 6009 Cypress Street in Houston, open to the public from dawn to dusk each day of the year.
Friends of Don Greene devotes many hours a month to restoring the park’s natural habitat and to promoting its native plant biodiversity for the benefit of insects, birds and all other animals up the food chain.
Since it’s opening in 2016, more than 12 native grasses and 4 native sedges have been recorded on site. Regular bird watching is conducted each month.
This tree-filled one-acre provides a cool spot in the city, even on Houston’s hottest days, where children can roam an easy trail that winds through the property and explore Nature in its finer details. We encourage anyone who visits to respect wildlife, leave no trace, and enjoy this quiet space.
Monthly workdays are hosted at Don’s nature park each third Saturday of the month. If you’d like to know more Go, and join us, Connect.
